Australasian Urban Ecology Research Colloquium 2005

On Saturday the 3rd of December 2005, UrBAC hosted the inaugural Australasian Urban Ecology Research Colloquium (AUERC). The event, held at the University of Queensland’s St Lucia Campus, was a great success, with some 60 delegates participating. Attendees were treated to an exposé of cutting edge urban ecology research from a diverse array of local, national and international researchers. A summary proceedings will be posted in a few weeks time, so please stay tuned.

The Steering Committee (SC) extends it’s thanks to all those who attended, with special thanks to those that travelled interstate and from New Zealand. The SC was also very grateful to Dan Lunney, who stepped in at extremely short notice to give the keynote address. Lastly, the SC would like to thank UrBAC members Jenni Garden (University of Queensland) and Darryl Jones (Griffith University) for organising and co-chairing this remarkable event, and to the various stakeholder groups whose support made the day possible.
